About

I’m Rachel Gillon and I write this blog, A Wee Pinch of Sugar. Thank for popping over to find out about me and I hope you find the posts of interest.

A Wee Pinch of Sugar

I’m a wife, mother of 2 fabulous sons who have equally fabulous partners and gran to 2 fantastic little grandsons. No 1 son and his wife live with their 2 sons in USA while No 2 son and his partner live in Scotland.

My life revolves around family and my two lovely dogs who are never far from my side.

A Wee Pinch of Sugar

I started blogging at A Wee Pinch of Sugar several years ago after giving up work and at this stage in my life I feel as if I’ve become a Jack of all trades and master of none.

The blog reflects a few of my main interests – food and cooking, which is where the blog started, healthy living, gardening and plants.

My interest in food and cooking extends beyond the kitchen to include healthy eating, growing my own food, fermenting food, food poverty, local and organic food and sustainable food systems

When my children were young I trained in Aromatherapy, using this natural approach to help improve my family’s health. Essential oils along with growing my own herbs and aromatic flowers continue to form a huge part of my everyday life. In relation to where my interests lie now, I also have a Diploma In Stress Management and I’m trained in reflexology.
